what to expect
The key to successful counselling and therapy is the relationship between the therapist and client within a safe and confidential space. You can then explore patterns of behaviour and coping strategies which no longer serve you and create healthier habits.
I use a psychodynamic approach which assumes that our feelings and behaviours are influenced by early experiences. The aim is to help you to identify any conscious and unconscious processes which may be working in opposition to your well-being and peace of mind.
At some point in our lives we all feel stuck or lost which is perfectly normal. Careful and sensitive exploration will allow you the opportunity to really see the things you may wish to change. This in turn allows for a more solid and complete version of YOU to emerge.
Talking with a therapist or counsellor can help you deal with negative self-talk, intrusive thoughts, behavioural patterns, stresses and past experiences to promote your own personal recovery. Talking about and exploring personal issues can sometimes be tough yet it can also offer an emotional release and a sense of really being heard, understood and supported.
